Responsibilities:

Located at Community Regional — home to the only Level I Trauma Center and comprehensive burn center between Los Angeles and Sacramento — our ED is California’s third busiest. This high-acuity, 156-bed unit sees over 350 patients daily and is staffed by more than 500 clinical and support team members. As part of the hospital’s safety-net mission, the ED serves a five-county area with a wide range of urgent and complex care needs. As a UCSF academic-affiliated facility, Community Regional also offers opportunities to collaborate on cutting-edge care models and clinical education. In this role, you’ll work alongside three dedicated managers and a highly engaged physician team to lead one of the most critical departments within the region’s largest healthcare system.

  • Direct the daily operations, strategic planning, and clinical services of the Emergency Department in alignment with system goals and standards.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team culture by fostering collaboration, professional development, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders including EMS, trauma services, physician leadership, and community agencies.
  • Oversee department budget, compliance, resource utilization, and performance improvement to ensure financial and operational excellence.

As an award-winning employer and regional leader in emergency care, this is your opportunity to share and expand your expertise in a high-impact leadership role!
